PTHB was inspired by the loss of teenager, Deazjnae Banks, who was taken from her school while attending Cosmetology School in San Diego, California, by an angry boyfriend who ended her life.

 

Purpletreasure handbags was create a process for disseminating the message of domestic violence to a broader audience with handbags. By informing the individual about the danger of domestic violence by conveys a true story of a victim of domestic violence story on the tag of the handbag. 

 

Since the victim cannot share her story, the tag insert speaks on her behalf.  The buyer of the handbag then shares the tag insert story with others, with the goal that these stories may resonate with someone struggling with a decision to leave an abuser.
